I am incredibly excited to announce the launch of our new reading venture: Buster's Book Club. This is a really fantastic opportunity for the children of Luddenham School. The club aims to encourage children to read at home every Wednesday night. Depending on your child's year group, there is a target for how much time should be spent reading. You will find this information on your child's bookmark they took home today. Please feel free to introduce a range of reading activities to your children as the reading target can be met in a variety of ways. You could try listening to an audio book, reading to your child or encouraging them to read a magazine or newspaper etc.
Buster's Book Club is also an excellent way to inspire team work across the school. There are certificates and badges up for grabs for individuals each week, along with a trophy which will be awarded to the class who reads the most minutes collectively, as well as there being whole school prizes available from the KM Charity Team.
With your enthusiasm and support, Buster's Book Club will be a success across the school in its ability to show children how enjoyable and valuable reading can be and hopefully igniting a passion for reading within your child.
