Class 2 worked so hard during their assessments last week that we thought they deserved an ice lolly in the sun! Here we are on the pirate ship...

Thank you Mrs Soffe for coming in and making special Jack and the Beanstalk cakes with us! They had magic bean, a green beanstalk, chocolate icing and a golden coin...Yum!

Jack at the Beanstalk Text Mapping

KS1 SATs Information Meeting

Poetry Recital

We had a lovely morning hearing each child in Year 2 recite the poem they had learnt over the Easter holidays. Thank you to all of the parents who came along to share this special time with us and to the children for being so brave and performing their poems so well - We were very proud of you! We hope you like your special certificates.

Maths - Measuring

We had a fun time doing some 'Giant Measuring' on Friday. We thought about the length of a giant's foot, the capacity of his potions and the weight of lots of Jack and the Beanstalk objects! Here are some photos of the children enjoying their measuring...

Easter Gardens
It has been lovely to see so many children make an Easter Garden this year. Here are Class 2's efforts - A big well done to all of our children that took part and to those who won a prize!

KS1 SATs Information Meeting

 

We thought it would be helpful to have a KS1 SATs information meeting on Wednesday 26th April at 4pm in Class 2. We hope this will help inform parents about the assessments your child will take in May. It would be lovely to see you then.

Poetry Recital

Red Nose Day

It was lovely to see the children dressed up in their red clothes on Friday to raise money for Comic Relief. We had fun singing and dancing to this years song too.

Shared Learning Afternoon

A big thank you to the parents that popped in on Friday afternoon and joined in with our activities. We hope you had a lovely time! We did science, maths, origami, rainforest activities and Red Nose Day activities too - We were very busy! One of the children even asked if we were getting party bags at the end because it felt like a party!

 

 

 

 

 

Rainforest Weather Reports

The children really enjoyed working in small groups to write and perform rainforest weather reports. We used the words temperature, rainfall, climate, wind speed and humidity. Here are Peter and Thomas telling us about Honduras and some more photos below.

World Book Day

We had a great day celebrating World Book Day last week. The children looked fantastic in their costumes and thoroughly enjoyed their time with Mr Legg in the afternoon hearing the Just So Story, 'How the Camel Got His Hump.' Mrs Ralph has a lovely time with Class 3.

Our Topic - The Rainforest

The children are thoroughly enjoying our new topic on 'The Rainforest.' Thank you to all of those children who have brought in items from home to add to our role play area. It's looking fantastic!

Maths - Telling the Time Board Games

We had a fun time playing time board games in small groups. We practised o'clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past.
