Spelling Shed

Each week in English, we will be learning 10 spellings, which will follow some kind of pattern or rule. These spellings will be on Spelling Shed for the children to learn. Then, each Wednesday the children will be tested on their 10 spellings. If the children improve their score from the previous week or maintain a score of 10/10, their achievement will be celebrated with green tokens! The year 3 and 4 list of statutory spellings will also be available to practice throughout the year on Spelling Shed.

Times Table Rock Stars

Each week in class, we will have a times table focus. We will practice in school but I also want to see that the children have been practicing at home. My suggestion for times table practice each day is at least 10 minutes but no more than 30 minutes. I will be checking the children's achievements and I will be giving out green tokens to praise the children for their efforts.

Reading

Each day, the children will be expected to read at home. This could be with a family member, independently or even listening to an audiobook.
