Luddenham School Every Child Can Achieve

If your child is isolating or is at home for a few days, please use the attached Home Learning Work to keep them up-to-date with their learning.

Homework to be handed in each Wednesday:

- TTRS (or numbots/hit the button) practise

- Spellings practise

- Reading at least 3 times in the week

- Activity sent home each Friday

Children should be practising their 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables at home.

Please ensure your child is practising their times tables in a mixed order, for example 3 x 6 =, 8 x 5 =, and not just counting up in 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's and 10's. The children are continuing to learn their times tables in random orders so it would be extremely beneficial if you could practise this with them whilst at home.

Practising times tables like this with your child on a weekly/daily basis will be extremely beneficial.

Term 1 and Term 2 Takeaway Homework

Reading books will be changed on a Monday and Friday. If your child needs to change their book, please ensure it is in their school bag with their contact book on Monday and/or Friday.

Please ensure that your child brings their homework folder with their completed homework sheet into school by Wednesday of each week.

The spellings sheet can stay at home to ensure your child is practising their spellings at home several times a week.

A new piece of homework will be sent back in the folder each Friday for your child to complete.

Homework should be consolidating what we have been learning in class; hence it should not take too long to complete. If your child finds the homework difficult then please do not hesitate to let me know or leave a comment in their planner so that we can focus on working on those skills some more at school.

Homework will consist of 4 pieces - practising times tables (using times table rockstars if possible), a weekly spelling list to practise, daily reading and another task linked to the learning we have been doing in class that week. Please find details of your child's homework on the website if you are unsure of what it is your child needs to complete, although they should also bring it home on a Friday in their new Homework Folder.

Homework should be handed in by Wednesday.

Spelling Tests will take place on a Wednesday.

Please also encourage your child to read, then question them on what they are reading to ensure they have a good understanding of the text.

If you are struggling with book suggestions for your child to read, please do not hesitate to ask me for some suggestions or pick something off of the 100 books to read during year 3 list which can be found below.
