Good afternoon families
We hope you are all keeping well and looking forward to life beginning to return back to normal in the coming months.
We are very excited to reopen the school fully on Monday 8th March to all pupils. Staff are very much looking forward to seeing the children back together again.
Below, I have listed the key areas you need to be aware of:
Children need to arrive at school from 8.30am and gates will close at 9am.
Collection time is 3.15-3.45pm. Please join the car queue
We will be introducing larger bubbles. Children will be taught within their class bubbles as before with their class adults, but playtimes will merge with their phase class in a bid to support social interaction and communication. The children have missed playing with children in other classes and we hope this will help with their transition back to school. This will also help us with staffing across the school. Phases bubble will be EYFS, Class 1&2, Class 3&4 and Class 5&6. As restrictions ease and with guidance from DfE we will combine these phases further.
Breakfast Club is available for families who need early child care. Please register interest and make payment on school Gateway app.
School dinners will be available from Monday 8th with a full menu in place.
School uniform, I appreciate that children will have grown and some uniform may not fit if children need to wear joggers or trainers as they have out grown their uniform then please feel free to wear these until clothing shops reopen. Please try to keep to school colours and wear uniform where you can.
Coats should still be brought into school as we will endeavour to get the children outside as much as possible.
Please send in your child with their PE kit. We will be undertaking our sports sessions outside as the weather is improving.
After School Club
We are looking to open our after school provision as soon as we can. Miss Paisley and Miss Foot will be there as usual but we need to have two staff members each night. We therefore need to recruit a second staff member but will hope to open with our current support staff soon. Once we have this sorted we will inform you straight away.
As the children will be returning to school, families who have been receiving meal vouchers will no longer receive them.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school. We are still restricted from using water fountains but children can refill their bottle throughout the day from class.
With all the children returning back with each other we will be undertaking a wide range of activities involving circle times and opportunities to talk about their worries and their hopes for the future. We will be undertaking a project theme for our afternoon sessions with lots of fun and outdoor activities in a bid to settle children back into school life having fun with their class.
Children who have completed work and want to share work they have done, teachers will be holding sharing sessions with class to celebrate their efforts and would love to see the fantastic work that has been completed.
If you feel your child would benefit from a short visit to school to familiarise themselves with school again, then please call the office to arrange a chat and a very brief walk around school with Mrs Mannings or your class teacher.
We will continue to require children to isolate if they or their family members test positive for Covid 19. If children develop symptoms in school, we will request that families collect their children straight away to be tested. On the result of a positive test, the class will be required to isolate for 10 days.
Please be aware that if your child has attended Breakfast Club or After school club and a child tests positive who also attends the club, your child will have to isolate. Attendance registers for these clubs will be used to identify children who need to isolate.
If any family member are waiting for a test result, please keep the children at home. Please telephone us and keep us in the loop of all absences from school please.
If Covid 19 test results come back out of school hours and is positive, please contact us on email@example.com
Apologies for the long list of things for back to school. I have attempted to avoid an essay but also include all the details you may need. If you have any questions or queries, then please do contact the office to speak to me.
