Late/Absence Procedures
Attendance
Attendance will be mandatory from 8 March 2021 and the usual rules on attendance will apply, including:
- parents’ duty to ensure that their child of compulsory school age attends regularly at the school where the child is a registered pupil
- schools’ responsibilities to record attendance and follow up absence
- the ability to issue sanctions, including fixed penalty notices, in line with local authorities’ codes of conduct
We strongly believe that in working closely with parents, we can do all we can to encourage everyone to achieve 100% attendance.
If you need to report your child's absence, please call the school office on 01795 532061 Select the option to report an absence (Option 1) and leave a message if someone does not answer as we will pick it up.
Please do not rely on the class email accounts as they may not get seen.
Punctuality
Luddenham has it's own special car queue, which provides ample amount of time to drop your child off (8.30-9.00) please do make every effort to make this time. The gate will close at 9am, after which your child will need to enter via the school office to ensure they are registered and have booked their lunch.
Please note if your child is later than 9.10am (which is when registers close) then they will receive an unauthorised late mark (U code) and it will impact on their attendance %
Health Advice - For the majority of conditions that children can get whilst school age, they can still come to school as long as they are getting the relevant treatment and feel well enough. Please see below Public Health Agency guidance on infection control in schools to help sign post you on the best course of action
