Luddenham School Every Child Can Achieve

Luddenham Friends Association

LSFA Annual General Meeting

Still image for this video
The Luddenham School Friends Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 13th October 2021 at 8pm, via Zoom.

As you know the LSFA arranges activities throughout the school year to provide additional experiences for our children and raise valuable funds for our school. Despite the last two difficult years these fundraising activities have raised in excess of £10,000 and facilitated the purchase of 30 iPads for use by the children in their lessons.

As children move onto secondary schools the committee needs new volunteers to keep these activities going and support our school and children. Your involvement could range from simply helping at the Halloween Disco to the leadership of a brand new event, no help is too small and no ideas too silly, it is all crucial support that makes all the difference!

We would love to see as many parents/carers as possible at this meeting, as we are a Friends Association grandparents, aunties, uncles etc are all welcome to get involved too.

If you are able to attend please e-mail the school office office@luddenham.kent.sch.uk so that we can provide you with a Zoom invite. If you would like to get involved but are unable to attend please e-mail the LSFA directly luddenhamschoolfriends@gmail.com

Thank you as ever for your support.

RECYCLE SCHEME

In 2019 we started our very successful Luddenham School Recycle Scheme, raising over £1,000 for our school.  The wish is to take outgrown and unwanted items and find a new home for them.  This helps the planet by saving on items being sent to landfill/incineration whilst also raising funds for our school.

We are asking for donations of saleable items:

  • Clothing
  • Luddenham School Uniform
  • Toys
  • DVDs

We have two bins outside the vehicle entrance to the school in which these donations can be placed.  Donated items are then sorted and listed on eBay or Facebook.

Outgrown good quality items of school uniform are offered for sale at a nominal price through our Facebay shop via the following link:

Non-uniform items will be listed on eBay & Facebook via the following links:

This year we will also be holding a stall on the Faversham Market in the summer to make these items available to the general public and hopefully raising awareness of Luddenham School's efforts to become more environmentally friendly, watch this space for more info!!!

TERRACYCLE

Luddenham School has been accepted as a public drop off point for Terracycle!

Terracycle is a scheme where large companies facilitate the recycling of items which would not be accepted in your normal kerbside collection.  We currently have two schemes:

  • Colgate
  • Burts-Bees Personal Care

We have a new blue wheelie bin outside the vehicle entrance to school in which accepted waste can be placed, see below for accepted waste details.

The children will be getting involved in the sorting of these items with the intention of raising there understanding of our impact on the environment.

Further activities are being planned to engage the children in recycling and reusing of items to reduce our schools impact on the planet.

The above two scheme also raise funds for our school based on the amount of accepted waste collected, however, we are looking into further waste streams that can be collected which may benefit other charities.

If you are interested in collecting waste in your work place to support this scheme please get in touch!  lsfa.recycle@hotmail.com
