School Lunches
School meals are a great way to ensure your child is eating a healthy and well balanced meal during the day. All food is freshly prepared and cooked on the school premises. All children in KS1 are entitled to free school meal. A cost of £2.68p per day, is payable for all children in KS2. Nourish is our provider for school meals.
If your child is entitled to Free School Meals but prefers to have a packed lunch from home, you should still apply for this benefit as we as a school receive extra funding for every pupil who qualifies. School meals
Our canteen staff are proud to produce delicious school dinners that are planned in accordance with the food standards agency requirements. There is always a choice of food available and children are encouraged to try new foods. Fruit and vegetables are included in the menu every day. Water is provided for the children to drink.
Packed lunches
We ask that if you choose to provide your child with a packed lunch that you avoid unhealthy options such as sweets and crisps and opt for fruit, raisins and healthier alternatives. As there are children who suffer from nut allergies, we request that children DO NOT come to school with any food that could contain nuts.
Example of a healthy packed lunch
- Banana
- Ham and cucumber sandwich
- Raisins
- Water
- Yoghurt (try sending it frozen, it will be lovely and cool when it’s time for lunch)
- Carrot sticks
- Chunks of cheese
