Message from Mr Wickham to Penguin Class

Still image for this video

Term 6

Welcome back to term 6. I hope you have all been enjoying the lovely weather we have had.

I have enjoyed seeing all the fantastic work you have been doing and also all the exciting other activities you have been up to at home. You have got some very talented parents who have been creating fantastic activities for you.

This term we will be continuing to use Kensuke's Kingdom as our class text. I have been getting Mrs Wickham to read a chapter each week as she has a better voice than me and have been uploading them for you to listen too.

As usual this term the home learning will be uploaded by a Monday for you to use. Please don't worry if there is a task you have difficulty with, but just send me an email on the class page.

Over the next few weeks I will be telephoning you all again to keep in touch. If you have any questions though I will now be in school everyday and can be reached through the school office.

During the last week of term I sent out a log in for you to complete the CAT test if you want to. This is your choice if you want to complete the test, but it will provide you with an idea of how you may perform in the Kent Test and which secondary school would best suit your style of learning.

I have set the closing date for these tests to be completed as Friday 5th June. I will then be able to send out your results via email for you to see.

I have updated Spelling Shed and Times Table Rockstars for this term and a copy of this terms spellings can be found in the usual place on the website.

I think that is all for now

Mr Wickham

Term 5

Welcome to Term 5 everybody. I hope that you had a lovely Easter and have all enjoyed your Easter eggs. It has been lovely to see the fantastic work that you all completed last term. Some of the stories I have been sent are amaxing.

This term we are starting a new topic. We are going to be looking at "Water of the World- Why do we need so much"

As uual we will have a class text that we will use to support our learning this term. Our new book is going to be "Kensules Kingdom by Micheal Morpurgo. Please dont worry if you dont have a copy of the text at home. I aim to upload me reading a chapter each week as a file to the class web page starting next week.

As usual the weekly learning will be uploaded on a monday and I will put the answers up to the previous weeks learning the following week.

I just want to remind you all that these are different times of learning and there is not a right or wrong way of completing the work. As i remind you all the time Penguin class "Your Best Is Always Good Enough"

Keep well and please get in contact with me if you have any questions. I try my best to answer, Please just drop me an email at penguin@luddenham.kent.sch.uk

Luddenham's Distance Dancing

Each weekday, we are following a Just Dance routine and sending the clips to Miss Allingham to create an overall dance video, as although we are not all together, we can come together through the dance videos which are created.

The link to watch all of the videos and to see which dances are coming up to be able to join in:

https://www.luddenham.kent.sch.uk/reasons-to-be-cheerful-page/

Please send video clips via WhatsApp to 07955709006 or via email to robin@luddenham.kent.sch.uk. I look forward to seeing your dancing faces soon!

Purple Mash

To have access to the Purple Mash website for online games and resources for learning, please email mmannings@luddenham.kent.sch.uk to receive a log in for your child.

Home Music Learning

During the lockdown period caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we now have the opportunity to provide music learning at home. Luddenham School uses the Charanga Musical School online interactive scheme, which has produced new “Music at Home Packages” for each year group, so that children can access and enjoy music education from home.

We also have a school song to learn, which is Lean On Me, which we thought was quite appropriate to the current situation! This song is available to access in the same place.

Please follow the link below to log on. If you haven't received your login details yet, or if you have any questions or problems, please contact Mr Legg via: eagle@luddenham.kent.sch.uk

TASKMASTER

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DQ32Vahb1E

Fancy turning you bathroom into a venue for a cool night out? Recreating an epic sporting moment in your kitchen? Hiding from sight and then revealing yourself? Alex Horne from Taskmaster has been setting some crazy challenges like these for you to try at home! You can find videos of completed challenges on youtube. New challenges are on twitter (#hometasking) There are 3 a week.

Have a go and send a photo to vpunchard@luddenham.kent.sch.uk so we can share them on this page. Have fun!

Please find below a pack or resources that will be sent home with the children on Friday 20th March. This pack will work alongside other resources that I will add to this page during this time away from school. If you need any extra support please email me via the class email address and I will try to respond to your  questions. Also please feel free to email me any work that you have been creating as I would love to see what you have been up to.

Please stay positive during this time and enjoy spending time with each other. I am aware that some people may have worries or concerns, but remember that learning happens in many ways and in many places. This adventure gives us the opportunity to explore different ways of learning and hopefully we can use this webpage to share our adventures!  Penguin Class Rule!
